  He claimed that he could get photosynthesis to take place without visible light by administering an energy “kick” from hydrogen (whatever that meant).

  "In place of light, they supplied the initial energy 'kick' with hydrogen gas, known to be a powerful electron supplier." "The result was the production of reduced pyridine nucleotide by chloroplasts (that is, the build-up of a key store of chemical energy) entirely in the dark."   This is also referenced in the old "Aid" book pp 1630-31.

  my soon to be ex moved out over a year ago.

  he left most of his things here ( i guess he thinks of my house as his personal storage unit).

  one thing he left was his survival backpack, i assume his "go bag".

  JW Net and Politics

  this site was and remains instrumental in assisting people that want to leave the jw's.. there has been political discussion here for some time now, a good couple of years and it makes me feel a little uneasy.

  i just opened up the site for the first time in some weeks, of the 10 posts being discussed, 4 were by the same poster, about politics, promoting their right wing beliefs.. this has been the trend for some time now, the same name behind a peppering of posts stirring the right v left of politics.. i remain forever grateful to the site and it's founders simon & angharad, i appreciate that simon shares some of these these political beliefs.

  it would be a shame to see the site evolve from a place for jw freedom of thought and escape, to political squabbling, that the world is frankly tired of right now.. just to clarify, politics is my hobby, whilst my friends read the football scores, i'm reading polling data.

  Don't call our elected leader a clown. Our Boris may not be perfect but he has done two great things for the UK:-

  • Saved us from Jeremy Corbyn & Diane Abbott.
  • Got (getting) us out of the EU.

  All he needs to do now is load up all the illegal immigrants that keep arriving by dingy each day, and send them back to the EU. They can have the immigrants, we will have the fish.

  The goofiness of the whole thing is just incomprehensible to anyone who's never been a JW.

  It's also incomprehensible to any current JW with an IQ in double figures.

  the assembly hall i believe used to be a reformed school for boys and was completely renovated and dedicated in 1985.. it was the only assembly hall i knew of that sold souvenir pens, book marks and notepads.. .

  I remember one year they were short of attendants so asked me if I would help out, which I did. I was on duty on the balcony on the Sunday and two brothers were talking rather loudly so I told them to be quiet while the sessions were on. I had no idea who they were but they went off and I thought no more about it. Then during the lunch break an elder from my congregation who had asked me to be an attendant came to see me and told me I should have been more tactful when speaking to people, as a complaint had been made. Apparently the two brothers were the resident caretaker and a Bethel representative.

  Not surprisingly they never asked me again!

  There is some evidence that Rutherford first mentioned 1914 as the beginning of christs second coming in the 1930`s.

  As shown in my quote from the 1929 book Prophesy (above) he knew about 1914 in the 20's at the latest. I'm sure there are earlier quotes.

  Page 133 mentions this again along with a footnote explaining that a clearer understanding of Biblical chronology pointing to 1914 was published in 1943.

  The change here was nothing to do with 1914. It was down to fact that they thought the destruction of Jerusalem was 606 BCE and 2520 years gave them 1914 CE. When someone pointed out their arithmetical error they changed 606 to 607. They had the answer they wanted (1914) already. This was the change in "The Truth Shall Make You Free". The previous year (1942) the publication New World had stated 606 BCE. Page 77.
